BHS, Above Bar, Southampton

The search for a decent cooked breakfast in Southampton city centre, especially on a Sunday continues. It was the turn of BHS in the high street this morning.

This was a buffet style breakfast in that you could pick up to 10 items from a range of food under the hot lights. I went for the 8 items and ended up with two sausgaes, two rashers of bacon, beans, tomatoes, black pudding and a hash brown. They had run out of eggs and that passed me by, but Jo did offer up her egg after we had sat down. Toast was free and you had to purchase a drink seperatley.

Well, there was two things majorly wrong with the breakfast, the first was that it was luke warm, and secondly the sausages were not good! The hash browns, although a bonus point in themselves, they were greasy and not the best, the egg although luke warm was good and runny!

It should be noted that the price was good, for 8 items it was £2.99 and the drink was around £1.50, so breakfast for under a fiver!

So, no re-visit required, this is not the best breakfast in Southampton!

5 out of 10.
