Author Dick Francis dies aged 89

Author Dick Francis dies aged 89: "Writer and former jockey Dick Francis, famous for his horse racing-based crime novels, has died aged 89, his family has said."

Now you might think that this is a strange news item to post on our blog however let me explain.

For those of you that have visited Butler Towers, not the Southampton chapter, but the mothership that is Westview could not have failed to notice, if you had looked at the bookshelves, that Dick Francis fills many a shelf.

Dick Francis was a favoured author at Westview - his books are easy to read and he released so many that it always proved a good birthday present or Father's Day present as they came out almost once a year.

So Dick Francis has a special place in our lives - he is certainly still very evident at Westview.
