Today Simon is working from home.
We wake up at 7am, and Poppy wakes a little later than us at 7.45am.
I feed her baby banana cereal and then her milk. She seems to be getting used to a spoon and a more thicker substance!
Then we have showers and get dressed.
We need to be out of the house by 9.30am, as we have an appointment with the Disablement Services Department at St Mary's Hospital in Portsmouth. This is to see the Doctors and then sort out about a prosthetic arm for Poppy.
We arrive in plenty of time, but the parking is a nightmare! We eventually find a multi storey car park round the back of the hospital!
Then we go for a quick coffee, toilet stop and then round to the Department.
The Doctor we see is really nice, and he explains that today they will take a cast of her arm and measure up for her plastic one!
We then go to another room, which is for kids, where someone puts a sock on Poppy's arm and then makes a plaster cast of it. They said they would make a corset for her with the arm attached, I assume it will fit over her arm and elbow and we tie it on. Poppy was so good and just sat there watching as the did it. They are going to call us when they have it to make an appointment to fit it.
Then we will have to go back every 3 months or so for a new one!
We saw a bigger arm quickly, and they don't look great, but it will get her used to wearing it, and it may even make putting cardigans and coats on easier for us!!!
Then we came home and are now sitting in the conservatory with the rain thundering down on us!
